Aircraft Overview
The HH-60 Pave Hawk is the United States Air Force’s primary combat search and rescue (CSAR) helicopter, engineered for high-risk recovery missions in the world’s most challenging environments. Built on the UH-60 Black Hawk platform, the HH-60 is extensively modified for long-range, low-visibility operations and has been saving lives since the late 1980s.
Equipped with forward-looking infrared (FLIR), GPS navigation, night vision-compatible cockpits, radar warning receivers, and an in-flight refueling probe, the Pave Hawk is capable of penetrating enemy territory in complete darkness or adverse weather. Its reinforced armor, self-sealing fuel tanks, and dual crew-served weapons make it exceptionally survivable in hostile zones. The aircraft typically operates with a crew of four and often includes elite pararescue personnel (PJs) for extraction missions.
From the mountains of Afghanistan to hurricane-ravaged cities at home, the HH-60 has served in every major operation of the last three decades. Its mission profile includes rescuing downed airmen, medevac of wounded personnel, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief. The Pave Hawk has become a symbol of courage, precision, and unwavering commitment to the motto: “That Others May Live.”
The HH-60G model is being succeeded by the HH-60W “Jolly Green II,” which builds on the legacy with next-generation avionics, increased range, and improved survivability. Still, the classic HH-60 remains an icon among helicopter crews and rescue forces.
This top-down full-color flag offers a detailed and accurate view of the HH-60, ideal for those who know the aircraft inside and out. Whether displayed in a hangar, office, or home gym, it’s a bold tribute to the aircraft that brings warriors home—often against all odds.
